Freebie Friday

Friday, December 16, 2011
Hi there Bean Bunny fans. It's been a while, hasn't it? Good news though - today is freebie Friday! Woohoo. Who doesn't love freebie Friday, right? Janet has a new kit coming out soon, but in the meantime, I thought I'd give you a little gift using a blast from the past - Bee Mine. I made a stacked paper for you using the kit, which you can find in Bean Bunny's shops at With Love Studio and Polka Dot Plum. Enjoy!

Wednesday, November 30, 2011
Earlier this month you got a sneak peek of Janet's newest kit - have you seen the big reveal? It's an adorable, girly kit appropriately called Pink! I don't have any little girls myself, but I can just envision the pages of cuteness you could create with this one. And if you don't have little one's to scrap for either, you can even scrap about other stuff, like I did with my layout Coastal Train. If you love Pink, then you've gotta grab this one. You can find Pink in Janet's shops at Polka Dot Plum and With Love Studio. Thanks for checking in and I hope you have a great day!

So I'm a day late on this - sorry about that! Fridays are never an easy day, mostly because after work - you just wanna veg. Saturdays are a bit easier - you know you've got two full days of "vacation" ahead of you and it inspires you to get things done. Today I made a little word art cluster for you using Bean Bunny's My Fairy Tale. I have to apologize for the dark background - the cluster is white, so it was necessary for the preview. Hope you like it and will find it useful! Just click on the image to download. Happy Saturday!

Journaling without much effort

Thursday, September 15, 2011
Hi there - Jen here. Today is all about journaling. I love journaling! It adds so much to a page. It tells the story, something scrapbooking has always been about. Photo albums are for photos, scrapbooks are for memories. That's the way I see it anyway. But have you ever had a page where you just don't know what to write? Maybe you can't remember much about when the photo was taken, or maybe you weren't even there. Perhaps it's the kind of photo (a portrait or face shot maybe) where there just isn't a story to tell. Does that mean you shouldn't journal? Absolutely not! One of the great things about a scrapbook page is that anything goes - each one is unique - there are no rules, no format for how it must be done. One of my favorite things to do on a page is to add a quote, a saying, or a poem. Sometimes I make them up myself, other times I search the web. One of my favorite sites for journaling ideas is Scrapbook.com. They have things to say for all sorts of categories, including quotes and poems, sometimes even just one-liners. So, what is your favorite journaling idea site?

Yup, it's that time again! Freebie Friday and I've got not one, but TWO freebies for you today (and they're both super cute, if I do say so myself). Over the last few weeks, you've been collecting freebies from Janet's newest kit, My Fairy Tale. I LOVE My Fairy Tale, but when I sat down to think about what I was going to make up for you today, I knew immediately that it had to be Bug A Boo. This kit is just so stinkin adorable! If you love it as much as I do (and how could you not?!), you can snag this bundle of cuteness from Janet's boutique at Sunshine Studio Scraps right here. And now, without further ado (I know, I'm a bit chatty), I present to you two new freebies designed with Bug A Boo. If you use either (or both!) in a layout, we'd love to see your design, so be sure to come back here and post your layout! Happy Friday everyone.

Hi girls...
I'm Scrappynetta,
a new Bean Bunny 's CT girls.
I have realized this QP
just for you, made with the kit
"My Fairy Tale".
Have a fun.

Not your colors? Not a problem!

Tuesday, June 21, 2011
Hi there, Jen here with my very first blog post for BBD. As many of you know, Bean Bunny has just released an adorable new kit made of pinks and purples and princesses called My Fairy Tale. Just about the time I joined the BBD CT and got a chance to play with this bundle of cuteness, my fiance suggested a trip to the (mostly for kids) theme park called Enchanted Forest in Salem, Oregon. I was so super excited when I realized the prospects for photo ops and LOs I could make using this new kit! We're talking pink candy houses and Little Bo Peep here, it just couldn't get any better! So as we headed out I grabbed the camera and asked is it charged? "Yeah, I think so" was the reply. So off we went. As soon as we walked in, I was in love with the place. Sugary cuteness all around. I whipped out my camera and began snapping. But suddenly, just 4 photos in, something went terribly wrong. Yes, that's right, the battery was charged, for all of about 5 minutes worth. I tried and tried to get the camera to snap another photo, at least the pink candy house I begged, but it was not to be. So I reluctantly returned to the car and put my camera away. All in all it was still a really fun day, but I was truly disappointed when we arrived home and I discovered that the only good picture I had managed to get in those 4 measly snapshots was of Little Red Riding Hood. No pinks, no purples, no sparkly princesses, just a lovely red cloak in a forest of green. Never fear, though, my disappointment quickly turned into delight when I realized that all was not lost. I love My Fairy Tale, I had a pretty decent photo, all I needed was for my photo and My Fairy Tale to match. So I got to work designing my page in the pink and purply cuteness, and then recolored the papers and elements to red and green to match Little Red. Below is the result. Not too shabby if I do say so myself. The take home lesson here is that if you see a kit you love (as in My Fairy Tale, what's not to love?! Am I right?) but the colors aren't quite right for you photos, go for it anyway! It's fairly straightforward to recolor and get the look you want. And you can reuse and reuse, recoloring for each happy, fun, and joyful event life sends your way. Happy Tuesday everyone!

This is my original LO using My Fairy Tale in pink and purple

Here it is recolored to match my photo - the only difference is the second paper in the stack - I used the checked pattern instead of the polka because I couldn't quite get the polka to the color I was looking for

I opened the screen door yesterday and my cat got out and has been missing since then so I was wondering if you are not to busy you could make a poster for me. It has to be A4 and I will photocopy it and put it around my suburb this afternoon.

This is the only photo of her I have she answers to the name Missy and is black and white and about 8 months old. missing on Harper street and my phone number.
Thanks Shan.

Dear Shannon,
That is shocking news. Luckily I was sitting down when I read your email and not half way up a ladder or tree. How are you holding up? I am surprised you managed to attend work at all what with thinking about Missy out there cold, frightened and alone... possibly lying on the side of the road, her back legs squashed by a vehicle, calling out "Shannon, where are you?" Although I have two clients expecting completed work this afternoon, I will, of course, drop everything and do whatever it takes to facilitate the speedy return of Missy.
Regards, David.

Dear Shannon,
I never said I don't like cats. Once, having been invited to a party, I went clothes shopping beforehand and bought a pair of expensive G-Star boots. They were two sizes too small but I wanted them so badly I figured I could just wear them without socks and cut my toenails very short. As the party was only a few blocks from my place, I decided to walk. After the first block, I lost all feeling in my feet. Arriving at the party, I stumbled into a guy named Steven, spilling Malibu & coke onto his white Wham 'Choose Life' t-shirt, and he punched me. An hour or so after the incident, Steven sat down in a chair already occupied by a cat. The surprised cat clawed and snarled causing Steven to leap out of the chair, slip on a rug and strike his forehead onto the corner of a speaker; resulting in a two inch open gash. In its shock, the cat also defecated, leaving Steven with a wet brown stain down the back of his beige cargo pants. I liked that cat.
Attached poster as requested.

Dear Shannon,
Having worked with designers for a few years now, I would have assumed you understood, despite our vague suggestions otherwise, we do not welcome constructive criticism. I don't come downstairs and tell you how to send text messages, log onto Facebook and look out of the window. I am willing to overlook this faux pas due to you no doubt being preoccupied with thoughts of Missy attempting to make her way home across busy intersections or being trapped in a drain as it slowly fills with water. I spent three days down a well once but that was just for fun.
I have amended and attached the poster as per your instructions.
Regards, David.

yeah can you do the poster or not? I just want a photo and the word lost and the telephone number and when and where she was lost and her name. Not like a movie poster or anything stupid. I have to leave early today. If it was your cat I would help you. Thanks.

Dear Shannon,
I don't have a cat. I once agreed to look after a friend's cat for a week but after he dropped it off at my apartment and explained the concept of kitty litter, I kept the cat in a closed cardboard box in the shed and forgot about it. If I wanted to feed something and clean faeces, I wouldn't have put my mother in that home after her stroke. A week later, when my friend came to collect his cat, I pretended that I was not home and mailed the box to him. Apparently I failed to put enough stamps on the package and he had to collect it from the post office and pay eighteen dollars. He still goes on about that sometimes, people need to learn to let go.
I have attached the amended version of your poster as per your detailed instructions.

I know, but that one is cute. As Missy has quite possibly met any one of several violent ends, it is possible you might get a better cat out of this. If anybody calls and says "I haven't seen your orange cat but I did find a black and white one with its hind legs run over by a car, do you want it?" you can politely decline and save yourself a costly veterinarian bill.
I knew someone who had a basset hound that had its hind legs removed after an accident and it had to walk around with one of those little buggies with wheels. If it had been my dog I would have asked for all its legs to be removed and replaced with wheels and had a remote control installed. I could charge neighbourhood kids for rides and enter it in races. If I did the same with a horse I could drive it to work. I would call it Steven.
